Budget
Can't we just fudge it?
I don't see a reason to budget.
I count each penny,
It all goes away!
Momma goes to the money tree.
I know its outside.
But how she gets it is beyond me.
I've searched and searched,
In the tulip bed.
Even trees that are taller than me!
Once a week Momma comes in,
Gives me an allowance I can spend.
Later that day,
I smile sweet as honey.
Can I have a bit more money?
Just an advance,
To carry me over to next week.
Momma says, " I know I gave you an allowance today.
What did you spend it on anyway?"
Well, the candy store was open,
I cannot tell a lie.
The book I bought,
Gives me lots of thought.
My friend and I went for burgers,
Or three.
Now I have nothing left,
For me.
Momma said, "You have an allowance,
Please make it last!
Budget your pennies,
Or go without any!
